Had a simple dinner at Ken Ramen. Haven been there for a very long time. Suprisingly that they are still crowded as the last impression that left me back then. it was a good meal.
Decide to do a simple test on simple bokeh for EP-2 and Ricoh GXR plus on top of it some art filter test. Thanks to Aaron who brought out his newly purchase PenF and using his Ricoh GXR for test.
*All testes are without any PP involve.

More on Ricoh GXR/A12 24-72mm F2.5-4.4 new lens review
Seating at Plaza Singapura Wang cafe. We simply test the EP-2 that was mounted with 20mm Lumix G lens which will be equivalent to 40mm and GXR A12 50mm F2.5 MACRO lens.
Thanks God there was subject to begin the shoot. And it was the newly receive Pen F that was purchase from e-Bay. The comparison begins.

As far as possible this is the direct comparison from both camera. GXR has the winning hand in terms of Sensor size over EP-2. However in terms of light source i felt EP-2 is better. So in terms og bokeh, which one do you think is better?
Taken from PEN-2
ISO speed: ISO-400
Exposure program: Art filter(Diorama)
Exposure compensation: +0.3 step
Exposure time: 1/50 sec
F-number: F/1.7
A different feeling to it. But might be more suitable for people shot instead?
Toying with PEN-2
ISO speed: ISO-400
Exposure program: Art filter(Soft focus)
Exposure compensation: +0.3 step
Exposure time: 1/50 sec
F-number: F/1.7
Another effect that was achieved through Art filter. Too bad I couldn’t control the effect as it is default by the unit. Maybe future software upgrade from Olympus will help.
ISO speed: ISO-400
Exposure program: Art filter(Pin Hole)
Exposure compensation: +0.7 step
Exposure time: 1/30 sec

The menu of GXR is quite intuitive. With tons of customize shortcut and user memory setting for quick and situation require. although I was a bit confuse with the massive flow of setting customisation but it is helpful when I get use to it.
The focusing speed is not really what I had expected as I had my hands on GRD I/II. The focus lock on can be miss at certain times and it will refocus every time I half press the shutter making it a loss of time if it is a moving subject.
The other portion that impress me is the interchangeable built-in sensor within the lens which knock the rest of the other m4/3 off their chairs. Apparently Ricoh engineer has another perspective of see it.
The only killer i felt that is i am stuck with GXR sensor lens. I am unable to use the body with other manufacture lens unit as for now. I can only get back to Ricoh GXR lens for different usage. Meaning that i will need to have a few sensor in the bag at all times? Ricoh has capture the market for GXR.
Another raw file conversion from EP-2
However not to miss out that the color reproduction is quite good on the 3.0-inch 920,000 pixels transparent LCD. I wonder how it look like on my LCD screen. The good thing that it is a notch higher that EP1/2 and GF1 is the handy built-in pop up flash with various setting.
Thats all for now. Any updates will be cont.
